Meet HNWOTY 2017 Presenters

Adaora Mbelu – Dania

Adaora describes herself as one who has a passion for innovation and a belief in the power of creativity to achieve extraordinary business results. She has worked as content director for the United Nations World Tourism Conference, Nigeria Centenary Awards, and International Conference On Peace & Security which had 28 world leaders in attendance.

Adaora was also project manager – business and production – for TV shows Nigerian Idol and Nigeria’s Got Talent. She was also the Corporate Communications Manager for OSMI during the 2010 World Cup where she managed all communications on the broadcast rights for Nigeria. She also led the ideation and brand development team that launched Guinness Africa Special into the Nigerian market.

She was named ‘Promising Young Entrepreneur’ in the MTV/MTN Meets Project; she was also named in the ‘Top 30 Under 30’ list by FAB Magazine. At the 2012 The Future Awards Africa, Adaora was nominated in the ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ category. She was nominated again in the “Media Enterprise” Category at the same award show in 2016.

She is currently the founder of Socially Africa and Trellis Group. Platforms that extends beyond a description and is focused on paying it forward.

Faith History

Faith Temitope Nsa A.K.A Faith History is a Nigerian TV/Radio Host, Producer & Voice Over Artist who currently hosts the Everything Digital Radio Show on BEAT 99.9FM & Classic 97.3FM, and co-hosts Talk of the Town & The Dish weekdays on Lagos Talks 91.3FM as well as the Incredible She Rocks Platform.

Formerly, an Associate Creative Director of the African Magazine (NYC); and later worked in the Advertising industry as a Digital Producer/Project Manager (Y&R NY/Ogilvy SA). Faith possesses a great passion for entertainment, fashion and the creative arts and has consulted on various youth brands, campaigns and events including Channel O (YGB) , Hyundai Million Balls, MTV MAMA Awards, Sprite (BEAT), ZAIN Challenge, The Africa International Hair Extravaganza.

In 2010, Faith made a career switch from advertising to become a media personality and continues to hone her talents in all aspects of the Nigerian Entertainment industry as an On Air Personality, MC/Host and Producer.

Elizabeth Osho

Elizabeth is a multi-talented media specialist, social media strategist and founder of So Me Solutions, a social media solutions firm where she is also the head strategist.

Liz, as she is popularly known, has worked within the digital space for years and was Genevieve Magazine’s online editor for four years before starting So.Me solutions and most recently, Dedicated to Digital.

 

Lara Rawa

Lara Rawa is a law graduate from the University of Lagos with a Masters Degree in International Business Law from Queen Mary

University of London. She was called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2007.

She is also a trained mixologist, astute cocktail enthusiast, CEO of Eventi Cocktails – a cocktail Consulting Company and Mobile Catering Services Company. She is all the Founder of Lagos Cocktail Week and the first female Tales Attache in Nigeria for Tales of the Cocktails in New Orleans Louisiana USA.

Chinny Okoye

Chinny Okoye is the Founder of The Women International (TWI), a Self Improvement and Personal Development platform for women dedicated to helping women from all walks of life build a better future for themselves, their families, and their business by creating events geared towards realizing their full potential both personally and professionally in order to live a purpose driven life. Chinny’s belief in having a wholesome and balanced well being (Financially, Mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually) pushed her into starting TWI.

Chinny strongly believes that her calling in life is to make a difference and to impact lives in a positive way. Hence, whatever she does she tends to work towards this goal. Her experience and longing to care and put other peoples needs first continues to inspire and motivate her to endeavor to continuously make a difference in the lives of others, however small it may be.

Chinny is highly experienced in non profit management and research focused on women affairs, policies and social development.  She has had some years of experience in working with various organizations both in Nigeria and in the US including the Centre for Women in Politics and Public Policy, Boston Mass, The Consortium on Gender, Security and Human Rights in Boston and The Health Care Federation Of Nigeria (HFN) in Lagos Nigeria to name a few. Her passion has always been to work in a women’s focused organisation where she could make a difference in the lives of women. She wrote her thesis on “violence against women in Nigeria” focusing on the cultural factors that are responsible for violence against women, this led to her dream to move back and gain experience working with organizations in Nigeria pertaining to women and eventually starting her own women focused organization.

Chinny is the CEO of TWI management agency, a sister company to The Women International to help female owned companies to grow and manage their social media communities. She is also a part time makeup artist who loves to make women look good and feel good. Chinny holds a bachelors degree in Public Policy and Philosophy with a focus in women’s studies from the University of Massachusetts Boston.

Jane Michael Ekanem

Jane Michael Ekanem is a celebrity stylist, designer, and fashion entrepreneur; the C.E.O of the brand Jane Michael and creative director of the clothing brand Easy Wear by Jane Michael.

A diverse and unique styling professional, her expertise spans across different facets of the craft. She was the Assistant Head Fashion Stylist at the GTBank Fashion Week 2016 and currently the head stylist for the TV show Seriously Speaking, by Adesuwa Onyenokwe. She is also the go-to contractor with Africa’s media giant Mnet where she provides wardrobe and styling solutions for their various productions.

Jane Michael Ekanem who is an Ambassador for Youths for Akwa-Ibom State got featured in CNN’s African Voices in 2016, where she was described as “the stylist behind some of Nigeria’s hottest celebrities” and has been getting positive media reviews. Nigerian lifestyle bible Bella Naija has her described as one of the “most experienced and respected stylists and fashion entrepreneurs in Nigeria’’ and with an inimitable portfolio and an A-list client base, Jane Michael has distinguished herself as one of Nigeria’s most in demand stylists and fashion experts.

Stephanie Obi

Stephanie Obi is popularly referred to as the Queen of Online Courses, because she helps women entrepreneurs to create, launch and sell online courses. Through her website, www.stephanieobi.com, she has impacted over 82,000 people in over 10 countries teaching them how to change their lives and change the world by leveraging on the internet. With more than 600 people enrolled in her online courses, she has developed a proven system of creating and selling online courses.

She is a First Class graduate of Computer Science from Covenant University and holds an MBA from the Lagos Business School.

She won First Prize at the Wimbiz Impact Investment Competition and has been recognised as one of the 100 most inspiring women in Nigeria. She speaks in notable conferences around the world and has been featured on various platforms including Channels TV, Guardian Newspaper, Punch Newspaper, Social Media Week, EbonyLifeTV, etc.

She loves to sing funny songs and to write short stories that have business lessons.

Tajé Prest

Tajé Prest is a Graduate of Buckingham University with a degree in Media,Communication and Journalism. She is vivacious & fun; with a passion for Fashion! she is the Star Host of ‘The Wedding Guest with Tajé’; She is the host of The Wedding Radio Show which airs Sunday from 5pm or cool Fm. she features on many show from doing Commentary on Men’s Corner on EbonyLifeTv to guest hosting on Spice Tv. She writes for BellaNaija and she is a health and fitness coach and owns her own fitness studio MotiVADE studio in lekki.

Taje recently launched her Eponymous footwear line, starting with a range of slides.  A brand she describes as “the beginning of her Empire”. She loves God, family, fashion, media & traveling, so Here & Now: the adventures of TASA is the perfect fit for her soul. Tajé moved back from the uk after over 13years abroad; with prior years of moving from country to country from South Africa to England; giving her a very receptive mindset having been exposed to many cultures; but nigeria has always been home.

Tajé desires to make an impact in the Nigerian industry and continue in the growth of the media industry on a global scale.

Tolulope Adeleru-Balogun

Tolulope Adeleru-Balogun is a multi-talented journalist with over 10 years experience in media. She currently works with 99.3 Nigeria Info. Nigeria’s  first 24-hour, 7 days a week news, talk, and sports radio station. There she hosts the top-rated Morning Crossfire, where she conducts interviews with the Who is Who in Politics, Education, Economy, Society and more. She is also part of the management team at Nigeria Info.

She first got her feet wet in radio broadcasting before moving to television for several years and then seeing the challenge of being part of new type of broadcasting in Nigeria, returned to radio to join Nigeria Info. Since the inception of Nigeria Info, Tolulope has been successful in making Morning Crossfire one of the top five listened to shows in Lagos. With a radio market of more than 30 stations vying for listeners and fierce competition during the morning belt, this has been no easy feat.

Since graduating top of her class with an honors degree in Mass Communication, Tolulope has continued to improve her skills with training. She is a CNN Journalism Fellow, trained by the world’s news leader. She has also completed training with some of the best in the field, from organizations such as the BBC, VOA, and Al-Jazeera. Understanding the role of social media in today’s journalism, she has also received training on “Journalism and the New Media Tools.” Tolulope widened her scope of knowledge, particularly concerning conflict and uprisings around the world, with a certificate in “Peace and Conflict Resolution” from the Kofi Annan International Peace-Keeping Training Center.

A multiple award winning broadcaster, she has also worked with various non-governmental organizations in Nigeria on various issues. She worked with the Electoral Reform Group to raise voter awareness from 2011 onward. She was actively involved in the 2011 elections in Nigeria, and is even now working with Enough is Enough Nigeria on encouraging citizens to not only vote but continue actively participating in governance after elections are won or lost. She continues to work with various NGOs, to increase awareness on domestic violence and rape in Nigeria.

Tolulope has also been a contributor for CNN and the BBC’s “World Have Your Say.” She has also worked with the US Embassy in Nigeria on journalists’ exchange programs and human rights issues. Tolulope was also a pioneer staff member of NN24, Nigeria’s first Pan-African 24-hour news channel. Her expertise is not limited to broadcast journalism. Tolulope serves as a media consultant, trainer and facilitator, sharing from her wealth of expertise with the next generation of broadcast journalists in Nigeria.  She is also an event host who brings a professionalism and grace to any event she hosts.

She is a social commentator and as she puts it a sometimes blogger, writing about issues ranging from violence against women, to the globalization of African culture, to her love of reading. A creative, self-starter who believes in thinking outside the box, Tolulope acknowledges that growing up outside Nigeria and seeing how the world reported Nigerian stories has shaped her drive for excellence in journalism. She is determined to show that there is more to the African reality than many people, including Africans themselves know.

Tolulope says her number one responsibility is telling African stories through the eyes and voices of Africans.

Lola OJ 

Lola OJ is a highly driven British born Nigerian, a creative entrepreneur and lawyer. She is the managing director of Coco Skincare; a brand dedicated to offering skin care products specially formulated to encourage healthy glowing skin.Lola OJ is an award winning beauty vlogger and influencer, a certified UK beauty technician and previous beauty editor of popular Nigerian lifestyle magazine Exquisite Magazine. She is a vibrant entertainment project manager and brand consultant who has worked on projects such as Nigeria our Heritage during the Africa Summit, Washington DC and she was the previous head of A & R for five music group, an authority in distribution and monetisation of content in Africa.

Glory Edozien

Glory is the founder of a personal development and lifestyle platform for women – Inspired By Glory and 9to5chick a Career Development hub for working women. She holds a PhD in Real Estate and Environmental planning from the University of Reading, UK and is a Certified expert in climate change and renewable energy finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management (Frankfurt School) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) collaborating centre.

She is also an alumni of the world Economic Forum Global Shapers and was recently listed as one of the 100 most inspiring Nigerian women by Ynaija – a list which also includes Arunma Oteh, Ibukun Awosika and Chimamanda Adiche.Glory is part of the pioneer set of Grooming for Greatness fellowship which aims to create a pipeline of African leaders. Through Inspired by Glory, she hopes to create a platform which not only challenges but expands the narrative of African femininity and ultimately build a community of women who are unencumbered by culturally defined roles and socially restrictive contextualisations.Glory is one confident lady who is determined to fulfill her God given purpose and help other women do the same.

Banke Alawaye

Banke Alawaye is an expert in exploiting digital tools for business growth and productivity. She holds a B.Sc in Computer Science, a Masters in Business Administration from Edinburgh Business School, Scotland and a Certificate in Entrepreneurial Management from Pan African University’s Enterprise Development Centre.

Banke has over 20 years of work experience with many businesses and she has been helping personal brands and organisations make the best of digital tools for years. Banke has spent thousands of hours mastering digital tools that can help simplify business processes and improve efficiency. She has a talent for spotting the opportunities for real impact in small businesses and is able to devise strategies for their growth.Banke is a Chartered Management Consultant. Her work experience spans investment banking, software development, management consulting and digital marketing. She is currently consulting for the Ministry of Education, Lagos State, on several projects including CodeLagos.

Chinenye Nnoli

Chinenye is a law graduate from the University of Benin and the Nigerian Law School. She is also an alumnus of the Lehigh University, Bethlehem Pennsylvania in the US and a graduate of the Enterprise Development Center (EDC), Pan Atlantic University. Chinenye is an associate member of the International Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN). She founded Metro Woman (metrowoman.ng), a platform focused on celebrating the modern contemporary woman. Through her platform, Chinonye uplifts, empowers and showcases female entrepreneurs.

Chinenye is passionate about elevating and propelling women using her gifts, resources and influence.
